Woot! My widget design for N97 is up for vote!

Recently Nokia has put up a widget design competition for the upcoming N97. Basically you have to use your creativity and create a widget; winners will walk away with a brand new N97 + their winning widget will be available on the N97 by default. How cool is that?
BTW, my widget functions as mobile Qiblat compass + prayer time and uses the N97 built-in compass. I’ve been wanting this type of application S60 for a long time. So don’t forget to vote for it and help me walkaway with the N97!
Nokia N97: Nokia’s answer to Apple, HTC
Gentlemen, meet the new mobile touchscreen King. Following the introduction of Nokia 5800 Xpress Music, Nokia has updated their N series line with the latest and greatest model; effectively leaving competitors (yes I’m looking at you Apple & HTC) in the dust.
This model has all the latest features; you name it. A-GPS, Wifi, HSDPA, 5MP camera with CZ optic. The build also seems to follow the design language of the E-series with metal casing.
So will this be my next Dream Phone™? I don’t think so. For me touchscreen is not an essential feature worthy of an upgrade.
So Near; Yet So Far
DELL has launched the new Latitude E4300 and E4200. Previously I was eyeing for the E4300 due to its size and weight; plus some other features such as the magnesium alloy casing, backlit keyboard but quickly found out that the price is too steep. Well, I think I’ll stick with my Vostro 1310 :(
This is another test entry from Windows Live Writer Beta
This is some extraordinary paragraph:
- with numeric listing added
- and another
- ooh and another
We have another para here; and look! Another list:
- But this time its a bullet type
- Yes it is bullet
Nokia E66 mini review
I have finally decided to let go my Nokia E65 and make way to the new Nokia E66. And I can’t believe that it not only retains E65’s strengths, but also upped the ante by several levels.
Below are some plus points of Nokia E66:
- Super fast GPS; faster than Nokia N95-1 (I counted not more than 20sec to have a satellite lock)
- Slick casing and slim too
- Camera with auto-focus and flash
- Auto-rotate - I think its the first one to have in the E series family; and nicely implemented. No lagging whatsoever when changing view. Screen transition is a plus point.
- Functional function keys (pun intended). I remember using only the Phonebook in Nokia E65. Plus I also love the dwi function of these keys.
- Readable clock during screen off - hold the Navi key to reveal a giant clock - really!
- Upgraded Calendar application - this feature I loved the most apart from the GPS
Minus points so far:
- Slightly above par camera quality
- How do I use the leather pouch? Its nice if Nokia used a slimmer version of the N95 pouch
Thank you for reading my review. Real photos coming up next!
